Dear Friends of Quince,
Early-summer has arrived in Bolinas, and the fields at Fresh Run Farm are bursting with life. Each week brings something new—bright herbs, tender greens, and the first sweet berries of the season. It’s the kind of produce that speaks for itself, and we’re proud to feature it across our menus at Quince.
Here’s a closer look at what’s coming in from the farm this summer:
- Strawberries & Alpine Strawberries: Juicy, fragrant, and intensely flavorful. The classic field berries and their tiny alpine counterparts are both at their peak.
- Fava Beans & Greens: A spring-to-summer bridge, favas bring both texture and earthiness. We’re using the beans, tender greens, and their flowers.
- Baby Leeks: Sweet, mild, and perfectly sized for grilling or folding into sauces.
- Miner’s Lettuce: This Bolinas native is a crisp, juicy green that adds freshness.
- Herbs: Spearmint, thyme, rosemary, oregano, French sorrel, and Spanish lavender are thriving.
- Wild Blossoms: From calendula and wild chamomile to forget-me-nots, vetch, and wild radish flowers, the fields are in bloom.
- Wild Nettle & Green Garlic: The last of the cool-weather crops are still coming in, offering depth and green intensity to balance summer’s sweetness.
- Douglas Fir Tips: Piney and bright, these bring a surprising citrusy lift.
Every ingredient we feature at Quince is a reflection of Bolinas’ unique coastal terroir and our deep connection to Fresh Run Farm. This partnership ensures that each element on your plate is sustainably grown, thoughtfully harvested, and an authentic expression of the season.
We invite you to join us this summer to savor the flavors of the harvest. Our team at Quince is dedicated to transforming these exceptional ingredients into dishes that celebrate the beauty and bounty of the season.
We look forward to welcoming you soon.
Warm regards,
Peter Martinelli, Chef Michael Tusk, and The Quince Team
